Yes an ISDN BRI port has always 2 channels, and the Fritzbox works fairly well standalone or as small gateway. You need to create internal "IP phones" in the Fritzbox, to which the Asterisk "SIP trunks" must register. But if you want to use it for DSL as well, you need to look which Annex standard is used in your country. In Germany Annex B is used. There are different Fritzboxes or firmware versions for both.
