Lonnie, I have a simple USB connected APC UPS. I'm not sure if this qualifies as being "special," but there's a second server powered by the same UPS. That server also runs apcupsd but gets its UPS status by way of a network connection to AstLinux.
It wouldn't be the end of the world if this went away but it's useful.
