Fernando, The AstLinux 1.2.6.1 genx86_64 .iso will work but the VirtIO drivers won't be available, so a couple tweaks in the example may be necessary.
The difference is the new “genx86_64-vm” board type in 1.2.7 has some kernel tweaks to add support for x86_64 KVM/Xen VM's and Virtio paravirtualized drivers. While the 1.2.7 “genx86_64-vm” board type is required to properly run as a Xen guest, the 1.2.6.1 "genx86_64" board type basically works under KVM (proxmox). For completeness, note we recommend using the bare-metal "genx86_64" board type for VMware in AstLinux 1.2.6.1 and 1.2.7 .
