Thanks, I had 'wicd' running, I can now connect/associate.

But 'iw list' still claims I can only do 54Mbps, I can't get more than
900Kbyte/s over the link.
and I do get lots of packet-loss. The packet-loss is in 'bursts' not constant.
I however get no notifies/disconnects from dmesg/wpa_supplicant

iwconfig tells me I'm either connected on 0 or 1 Mbps
