Not sure if this is of any help. But i ran into similar problems a while back. Described here: http://thread.gmane.org/gmane.linux.drivers.ath9k.devel/1716 I never got any reply. But i strongly suspect that broadcast/multicast where none functional in ath9k in that kernel. I now run 2.6.30.x and it actually seems to work now. So maybe the driver in ubuntu 9.04 has the same problems?
