Dear all, is there any way to figure out the total time required for the transmission of a frame? I figured out that by using the radiotap header mechanism I can gain access to the duration field. However, this signals me only the duration of the actual radio transmission of the frame.
I am interested in measuring how long it takes between the the time when the frame is taken from the head of the transmission queue by the WiFi card until its finally acknowledged by the recipient (including the time for sensing the medium idle, backoff procedure, transmission and retransmission attempts). Is it possible to figuring this out in the driver at all?
