MIDWEST LEADERSHIP CONFERENCE The ABC's of ACB Leadership a...@inebraska.com dh...@moblind.org A singularly effective means of increasing affiliate membership, training tomorrow's leaders, improving the ability of current leaders, and creating a vibrant, active and empowered state affiliate is in the holding of leadership training seminars. It is this concept that led to the initial contacting of several Midwestern states by one time Iowa President Mike Hoenig. With the initial conference call taking place August 25, 2010 with Iowa, Nebraska, Missouri, & Kansas, the planning began. We are pleased to announce that with the enthusiastic endorsement of the leadership of the American Council of the Blind and agreed participation from Illinois and Indiana, the Midwest Leadership Training seminar is scheduled for the weekend of August 19-21 in St. Louis, MO at the St. Louis Marriott West located at 660 Maryville Centre Dr. St. Louis, MO 63141 It is the responsibility of each participant to secure their own room reservations by July 20, 2011. Please call 1-800-352-1175. To secure the discounted group rate of $70 per night plus applicable taxes, be sure to identify yourself as being with the Midwest Leadership Conference. For folks requiring ground transportation from either Lambert/St. Louis International Airport or Amtrak, please make your desires known on the enclosed registration form.
