Subject: [VICUG-L] Web Site to Create Accessible Installers for
Software Updates
Date sent: Thu, 14 Jun 2012 10:29:51 -0500
Hello all,
I got the following info from another list; thought many might
find it
useful. I have not tried to use this yet.
Subject: [techexchange] Helpful web site
Some of you may already be familiar with the following site.
WWW.ninite.com creates installers for many programs. These
installers
are extremely accessible. If any of you have struggled with
updating
Java or flash you'll find the Ninite installers are a fantastic
way to
keep these programs up to date. Ninite eliminates add ons like
toolbars
that Java and Winamp put on your computer unless you are very
careful.
If you go to
http://ninite.com you'll be able to easily understand the
service. They
also have a site at http://ninite.com/accessible which has
programs that
have been used with screen readers. You can create one
installer for
your favorite programs on the site which will keep each program
up to
date.
Regards,
Sherry Wells
