Molly,
Unfortunately, you may not be able to get around a smartphone. Most other phones won't read techs. The only devices I can think of are the lg nv devices but they aren't made anymore. I'm sorry I couldn't send anything better.

Hi all

I am looking for an adaptive phone for my husband. He does not want or need a smart phone. He currently has the haven but he has a hearing loss and it is not working well for him anymore. I would like to find one that he can text with. Any suggestions?

Molly
