I wanted to share this important message from Steve Clark of Kansas City on
another list. Distribute it widely as it might really help some of us.
The other day I tried accessing my credit report from
http://annualcreditreport.com but didn't remember the answer to one of
the questions that only I'd know. It was about the amount of a payment
from several years ago.
So I decided to just order the report from their phone service. I was
surprised when it asked if I'd like my report in a format accessible to
the blind. I had a choice of braille, large print or audio.
I made my selection and selected the reports I wanted.
Here is some info about this I found online.
Steve
Annualcreditreport.com also has responded to the issue:
Individuals with visual impairments may request their free annual credit
reports in Braille, Large Print or Audio Format by telephone, toll free,
877-322-8228. After you call and provide the required personal
information and certify that you are blind or visually impaired within
the meaning of the Americans with Disabilities Act, you can then select
your preferred alternative format. Your reports will be mailed via the
U.S. Post Office within 15 days, but please allow an additional week for
delivery.
