Hi,
Most TV's have multiple input and output connections now days. You need to
define what you mean by accessible for me. I am not by any means an TV guru.
In fact, my standard answer when ask is I no nothing about audio/video. This
is because all this type of equipment is menu driven and these menus do not
talk.
If you have cable or direct TV etc, they too also have different input and
output jacks. Most have the round jack with a hole in the middle I always
refer to as an RCA jack. You can get an adapter or combination of adapters
to get a mini RCA jack,( head phone jack), so you can plug in a set of
speakers. With a setup like this no TV is necessary.
Here is what I use when I need to do something like this;
1. A Y adapter.
This adapter has 2 male RCA plugs that are connected to 1 female RCA plug.
2. RCA to Mini RCA adapter.
This has one RCA male plug on one end to connect to the female jack on the Y
adapter and a Mini female RCA (head phone jack on the other end. This
combination will give you stereo output.
Most TV's have these RCA outputs also.
This may not make any sense to you or any one reading this post, but if you
print this off and take it to an electronic store they should be able to
understand it and get you the right parts. I use to use Radio Shack stores
for this kind of thing but I am not sure there are any left.
Feel free to call or email me if this is all unclear, which it probably is.

Subject: [ATI] TV help

I have one of those tv's that Richard Oehm built, and it's really on its
last legs. What kind of tv do you recommend as a replacement? I don't even
really need a picture, but I most care that it's accessible and that it has
an earphone jack as I record tv shows for other people and need a straight
plugin right into the set. Any thoughts or particular recommendations?
