I was trying to get this company to the convention. Scheduling does not work out this year. They would like very much to be at the convention next year. So I am passing this information for anyone interested in this technology.
Darrel Thank you for your interest in eSight eyewear. I have provided below a brief overview of our technology including some links to videos and other pertinent facts. How it works: <blocked::http://youtu.be/-E2dcekXzts> http://youtu.be/-E2dcekXzts eSight eyewear uses an advanced, high-resolution video camera to capture what the wearer is looking at and delivers those video images to the eSight controller. A sophisticated computer in the controller processes the images and then in real-time, projects the reprocessed video images onto two LED screens inside the eSight eyewear. In this way, eSight provides as near-normal vision as one's condition allows. Product Features: . Mobile . Hands-free . Auto adapts to near, mid & far vision . Personalized with individual's prescription lenses . Bioptic tilt to enables wearer to alternate between walking and reading without having to remove eSight . Magnification ranges from 1.5x-14x . Separate contrast and brightness features accommodate a range of different lighting . Freeze capability enables wearer to take a still shot . Six custom color modes to make reading easier . Software can be easily updated via a computer which enables the eyewear to remain current Testimonials from wearers: <blocked::http://youtu.be/1CgxJ6SWSx0> http://youtu.be/1CgxJ6SWSx0 For whom it works best: Visual acuity: eSight eyewear is most effective for individuals with visual acuity between 20:60 and 20:600 whose field of view is greater than 15 degrees. However we do have wearers that fall outside of the range that are successfully wearing eSight on a daily basis. Age: We currently have wearers ranging in age from 7 to 94 who own and benefit from eSight eyewear. Typically, teens and adults adapt very quickly to the eyewear, while elderly individuals may require some additional training to get the full benefit from the device. Ultimately the extent of the benefit is dependent on the individual and on their motivation, comfort with technology, etc. Eye condition: eSight works for people with: . Macular Degeneration . Diabetic Retinopathy . Stargardt's Disease . Ocular Albinism . Leber's Hereditary Optic Neuropathy . Cone-Rod Dystropathy . Retinopathy of Prematurity . Optic Nerve Hypoplasia Note: We have had some limited success with RP and Glaucoma.
