I appreciate the transparent pricing model where you pay for what you use. I
passed this on to the iDevice list.

Subject: [ATI] Crowd Vis IPhone App released

Hi Everyone,
The App Crowd Vis was released on the Apple App store on labor day September 7.
Crowd Vis is an IPhone app that uses the Face Time feature to help a blind
person when we need a pair of eyes. It is like the app be my Eyes with a couple
of differences.
When you download the App you receive 8 free calls. This is so you can try the
service before you pay any money. Then after you use the 8 free calls you can
buy more calls from within the App.
The pricing options are as follows. There are 3 options. 4 calls for $2.99. 7
Calls for $4.99. 16 Calls for $9.99. On top of the 8 free calls after download.
So why the charge? This is because there is a trained and paid staff answering
the calls and are available 24 / 7. So if you need the service you will know
there will be someone available to assist you.
I am making this announcement because I helped beta test the App and have
talked to the developer many times. I also supported this to be a paid service.
I believe you get what you pay for and a trained paid professional staff we can
depend on is worth the money, at least to me. So give it a try and see if it is
worth the money to you. Remember the App is free and so are the first 8 calls.
Also there is no time limit on how long you keep the app or use the free calls.
Here is a message from the head developer
Akash

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to update you guys that this week of launch has been going exactly
as we hoped!

Since we opted for a soft (quiet) launch, we have had the opportunity these
past few days to prepare ourselves for a much larger user base in the coming
weeks. Fortunately, each day has consisted of positive user base growth and
CrowdViz is becoming more and more familiar to the blind community day after
day. The date that we have set to start serious marketing campaigns for
CrowdViz is September 14th (next Monday). If you have any suggestions for
improving and gaining CrowdViz exposure in the coming weeks, we are all ears.

Also, worth noting our current country releases are as follows: US, UK, Canada,
and India.

Make sure to follow us on twitter @crowdvizapp

Exposure on twitter has been really great for us this week.

Thanks

Akash

So try it out, you have nothing to loose.

Thanks,

Darrel Vickers
