I haven't had much success with the Alexa app but rather I go to, http://alexa.amazon.com/spa/index.html?ods_Email_Home_B_welcome_setup= <http://alexa.amazon.com/spa/index.html?ods_Email_Home_B_welcome_setup=&ref_ =pe_2242090_213153970> &ref_=pe_2242090_213153970 and make my setting changes there.
There I can turn various switches on among various other settings. You can also find a list of commands you have given Alexa and delete them if you want to.
