I also working on asterisk since a couple of days :)
Let's coordinate, my current specfiles are under

That's great, as I didn't have any time yet to look into them!

How do the dependencies look like, e.g. what does

rpm -qRp foo-kmdl-...rpm

return?

It should give something like

# rpm -qRp nvidia-graphics180.22-kmdl-2.6.18-128.el5-180.22-106.el5.x86_64.rpm
/bin/sh
/bin/sh
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-128.el5
/sbin/depmod
modutils >= 2.4.14
nvidia-graphics-devices
rpmlib(CompressedFileNames) <= 3.0.4-1
rpmlib(PayloadFilesHavePrefix) <= 4.0-1
rpmlib(VersionedDependencies) <= 3.0.3-1

E.g. the /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.18-128.el5 dependency.
