Is there a simple command to update all the MythTV packages?
I have a list of all packages can I group them? or will mythtv-suite work?
Recently that has become an FAQ. I don't know why.
Here is the short version:
o Use apt-get dist-upgrade or
smart upgrade or
yum update
to update *all* available updates found in *atrpms-stable* (!)
o Using partial updates like hand picked ones or disabling the repo
and only enabling it for one install operation, protectbase,
preferences, weighing and what they are called these days, will lead
to trouble, don't come crying if you do so (e.g. the list below
already misses libmyth, which is fatal, and certainly misses all
40-50 dependencies for myth, which can lead to trouble).
Anyone who recommends such action should be supporting the users
that followed this bogus recommendation.
ATrpms will only support configurations that will have properly
enabled atrpms-stable and will use the latest packages available there
before filing in any bug reports. It's prerequisite, really!
