That is with mythfrontend and backend loaded but not
actually playing any video (sitting idle, not
registering any significant CPU). I also noticed after
posting last night that it is just as bad watching
recorded videos as it is watching live TV. Regarding
transcode and live tv having nothing in common it
makes me wonder if it is something else that got
upgraded more on the system level that could be
causing the issue. All of the RPMs that got upgraded
are in that yum upgrade log I linked to. It also
upgraded mplayer, some video libraries etc.

I did look over the different SVN updates between the
old version and the new version and there was one
update that looked rather significant to me (a code
cleanup effort by the looks of it). I was just hoping
I wasn't the only one to experience the issue so it
would have been easier to pin down. If only I could
get my hands on all the RPMS that I had installed
prior to the upgrade (also in the log) I should be
able to pin it down.
