I am having the same problem with mythbackend reporting a transcode
error due to "Unknown video codec".
In mythfrontend, I set up the following paramters to transcode to MPEG-4:
- Software Encoders (v4l based)
Default
Profile name: Default
Enable auto-transcode after recording
Width: 640
Height: 480
Codec: MPEG-4
Bitrate: 2200 (about 1Gig/hr)
Maximum quality: 2
Minimum quality: 15
Max quality difference between frames: 3
Scale bitrate for frame size
Enable high-quality recording
I have the xvidcore and xvid4conf rpms installed from freshrpms.
The specific error message is as follows:
