Thanks for the info. Clearly I agree with your assessment of the situation :) I'm not actually finding libvdpau on RPMfusion anywhere (and specifically in either the EL5 section or a src RPM to rebuild). Got any further pointers? (sorry if this is now off topic for atrpms-users) cheers, James
