The builds only take a couple of hours, but ATrpms receives the new
kernels like everyone else, e.g. when they are already on the field.

Also some kernel upgrades break the builds of kmdls especially in Fedora
and especially when the kernel upgrades to a new minor release. In that
case it may take longer.

For production sites I always recommend using asterisk/dahdi with
RHEL5/6 or a clone (CentOS/SL) as these tend to have slower kernel
upgrades and usually not that intrusive. And in general if you rely on
kernel modules, be that in kmdl packages or self-built, you should
always give a kernel some time to mature to see sane kernel module
support.
