As another message I cross-posted from the mythtv list confirms, I had
major issues with this new driver.  I could not log in remotely,
mythbackend was segfaulting, other stability issues.  285.05.09 does
not seem ready for prime time.

Well, it may be a coincidence, but after I rebooted with the new nVidia driver I was unable to run mythfrontend at all on my F14 box due to a SIGSEGV.

It was dying at absolute start-up (loads of dl-related calls) so on a whim I disabled prelink (and there-and-then removed the prelink data (prelink -ua?)) and afterwards had no problems.

  The removal command did report issues.

I was going to re-enable it later (although this quite-new box shows no significant difference without it!); I may back-out the nvidia driver first!
