Is there a >> way around this? Can you quote the full and exact error message? What happens if you start emacs.exe (maybe from the Windows prompt) instead of runemacs.exe? Does it get any better if you run addpm.exe before trying to start Emacs? Note that addpm.exe will modify your registry.
