Hi all,
I'm trying to install AucTeX from source but I remain stuck at the
./configure step...
It complains that I don't have LaTeX installed:

Which I don't understand because LaTeX seems to be working normally, for
example when I run latex sample2e.tex, I get:
> This is pdfTeX, Version 3.1415926-2.4-1.40.13 (TeX Live 2012)
> restricted \write18 enabled.

The point is I previously installed TeXLive and AucTeX from the Ubuntu
repositories. I then found out that the TeXLive version was the 2009 one,
so I manually installed TeXLive 2012 and removed AucTeX.
I'm trying to install AucTeX from source because if I install it from the
repositories, it ask for some TeXLive 2009 dependencies I removed.
I run Ubuntu 12.04 and Emacs 23.3.1.
Would anyone know what the problem is?
Thanks in advance for your help.
- Andrea
