It is about experimental SSE/AVX acceleration of the FFT
routines in Equalization. That code is committed under a #define
EXPERIMENTAL_EQ_SSE_THREADED and is not planned for release
yet.

"Bench" here means a "benchmark":

I think the sense is a verb, meaning to "run a benchmark test".
