Okay, I guess I'm going to increase the pats-on-the-back thang...! So am including this more widely (and removed Dan's surname, because I haven't asked his consent). The Forum post Steve forwarded says Dan's glad he never read the manual, but still, big kudos to the Audacity Manual creators/editors. Our download counts, referrals, and online ratings show that Audacity is much appreciated, too. I'm amazed at these download counts for 2.0.6, e.g., checking just now from their sites: * SourceForge (http://sourceforge.net/projects/audacity/): "191,581 Downloads (This Week)" * FossHub (http://www.fosshub.com/Audacity.html): "2,837,812" total downloads in a couple months (including a bit of 2.0.5 downloads) -- so probably about the same number of downloads per week as SourceForge * CNET (http://download.cnet.com/Audacity/3000-2170_4-10058117.html): "Downloads Last Week: 7,002" So that's roughly 400k downloads per week, not counting other mirrors. So 1.6m downloads per month from just those 3, I reckon. Ratings of Audacity are consistently 4-to-5 out of 5 stars. ALL of us, not just devs, are making a major impact in the world by our work on Audacity.
