Instead of having a checkbox with the title "Do not show again on
startup" would it not be better/shorter/more logical to have the title
say something like "Show on startup" and then you have the check mark in
the checkbox to indicate yes or no.
Like in the dialog that first appear when starting Audacity.
Maybe it appear other places i dont know.
