The internet was taken by a storm when the Audacity team decided that it
was ok to propose to send user data to Google and Yandex, for some
unspecified benefits that they can't even explain in simple terms.

I've been around for almost 20 years translating this software to pt_BR,
but there are some lines that need to be drawn and I can recognize
trespassing when I see it.
I won't be part of a project that doesn't respect its users, and if the
devel team decide to keep on this route, I'm out and I'll ask the other
translators to join me pulling the plug off this.

They would have their telemetry, but not in portuguese, at least not
through my hands.

They can argue as much as they want that telemetry is opt-in and that the
idea was rejected, but  if this nefarious stuff makes it through later on,
I'm opting-out for good.
