Re: Solara

Yep, that's all true, but as I've said before I just don't find monster names on their own half as interesting to battle as properly described monsters, just saying "rags" or "mummy" or whatever doesn't really convey much of the atmosphere to me, particularly with some of the ambiguous ones as you said, though equally I'd really like some info on the more obvious ones appearence, for instance, it's pretty obvious that slime and ooze and jelly are similar sorts of creatures, but are they different colours? different consistancies? do they attakc with acid or have psudopods?

For me even a little monster description can hugely enhance the game.

As to boggards, I have encountered accounts of them as something more like a sprite or a smaller, more magical kind of troll before, especially in scandinavian or scotish myths, though they usually seem depicted as causing mischief rather than actually causing physical harm, so I@m guessing this is the idea that the developers are using in the game.

Heck, most creatures in folk law were always represented as a bit mystical as well as physical, rather like the terry pratchet kind of elves, ---- but without all the dreams and glamour and magic, just generally magical and viscious and pretty dam scary.
