I would say i totaly see where most of you are comeing from. People tell me to get out more and be more social, when the reality is, i have a fantastic girlfriend, and a close friend very close by. Why should i go somewhere to socialize when the people in my close circle give me all the emotional support i will ever need? There are times that yes, i want to go somewhere on the fly, but it's pretty much not possible unless i get a ride from someone, as the transportation in my area sucks. I can't simply walk out my door and drive somewhere and screw around for a couple of ours. As a blind person, i almost need a checklist, because if i walk around a store by myself, even if i simply intended to just look around, people would think i'm crazy or need help, plus, it's inpractical anyway. So, as tward said, sighted folks have a much simpler go out and do attitude, as it's more accesible and natural for them.
