Re: Swamp, zombie fps by Aprone

I still don't think allowing people to pay to get back after a ban is a good idea (this isn't a new vote though, Aprone, as I've already given my opinion so it shouldn't be counted again). Someone a few posts back made the point about Aprone still having to sort out the mess the hackers and cheaters leave behind them. That's true, he will. He will also have to manage an account and keep financial records, to ban and unban people. OK, he gets money back but isn't this just more work?

I would gladly pay to play Swamp and loads of other people have said the same thing in the past. Why should Aprone need people to mess up to make money when he could charge for the game so that the people who really value, respect and enjoy it can say "thank you"? I'm not trying to start a new vote for charging for Swamp generally here but at least it wouldn't mean that the only way to contribute to the game is to damage it.

What about mains tream games? If someone hacks Lord of the Rings Online or World of Warcraft, can they buy their way back in? Do you think those companies don't get bombarded with messages by people who think they've been unfairly treated for getting caught cheating or hacking? They have a strategy for dealing with these: the delete key.
