I don't use NVDA, so I'm not sure how to help you there. But I do know that with Jaws, I've used the filter for reviews. I think it was just a matter of clicking the link that said sort, and making a choice for what I wanted to see. So there's probably a way to do that with NVDA. But I don't know about filtering help topics. Something makes me think you can't sort forum topics, but I'm not 100% sure on that.
