If you computer is at least 2006, maybe even before that, it has to be at least usb 2.0. IT probably defaults to 1.0 for older devices. I don't know though, I don't use lenovo and as a side note I have never recommended it to anyone and never will do to their idiot tech support. On a call, the tech support had accused someone of lying when the person said he was blind. I do mean actually accusing them, flat-out accusation of lying when they had a visual impairment. Just goes to show the coldhearted treatment some people have towards us. Anyway, I got that popup on my old dell inspiren computer when I plugged in some usb devices, even though that machine was! usb2 compatible.
