threeblacknoises, what you're doing in 13-1 sounds like exactly what you're supposed to do to land. lol Press l to extend the landing gear, then press down to land when you're right above the landing spot. Making sure you slow down, preferably all the way to slowest speed possible, when you're heading for the spot, if you miss it, you'll either crash and die, or crash... the game which sounds like what's happening.
