lg 441G talking phone
hey i got safelink free tracFone cell phone service in the united states because i live in the united states and am blind. anyway a few weeks ago i got a letter saying i could upgrade from the cheap flimsy samsung candy-bar model phone they give you in the mail to this lg 441g phone. so my mom convinced me to go to walmart and check it out. so we went. the lg phone cost me $5.00 united states dollars. so i brought it home and my mom and son helped me to transfer the safelink service to this lg 441g tracfone. then my son said in the settings menu under accessibility there is a menu read out option and when he turned it on the phone started talking using a tts that sounds a bit like nuance samantha compact voice. so in short for $5 i get a free phone with a screen reader a basic one sort of like windows narrator. some things do not work it does not read punctuation when texting i cannot edit messages. cannot read letter by letter or word by word. the camera app does not talk but is still useable so is the voice recorder. other apps like calculator and alarms and calendar, tasks and stuff they talk fine and are useable along with contacts. so for $5 i get a camera phone with a basic screen reader and its more durable than the free mail order samsung candy bar phone. only compatible with tracFone ans safelink ans straight-talk but for a basic phone its worth it. so does anyone else use the lg 441g phone?
