Samsung Gear Live Android Wear Access
Hello, over the past two days, I have succeeded in bringing Talkback to the Samsung Gear Live Smartwatch. You can get the archive and an installer script here: http://nashcentral.ddns.net:8100/wear_access.tar.gz. If you have another watch without a build-in speaker, just edit the block device numbers, in the adb shell lines that have /devin them to make the script wipe and mount the right partitions and substitute another boot image with adb root access enabled for your specific watch. Note that since this device does not have an internal speaker, you will have to non-surgically borrow eyeballs to pair a set of bluetooth headphones or a speaker to the watch, about halfway through the installation process. Also note that android wear's ui design, doe to the small screen size, does not allow you to use the two-finger gestures to scroll settings menues and the like, in order to scroll, you have to double tap near the bottom of the screen, and while that gesture is registered, quickly swipe your finger up to show more options. Also, while viewing cards, use either the wrist gestures or the double tap method to view more cards, and the double tap method, using a right-to-left gesture instead of a bottom-to-top gesture to take action on a card such as open on phone. Although the latest Android Wear watches have a speaker and accessibility built in, this might be of use to those of us early adopters who either cannot or do not want to buy another device, and have to learn another screen reader.
