Assuming you already have JAWS, which from all I've gathered you don't, a license of Leasey with all of its functionality only costs $235.  This includes daisy material and whatever it is Leasey uses as its own voice.  if you shave off a hundred dollars you end up with a product meant for advanced users that has neither the daisy material or the Leasey voice.  The only way the product could possibly cost you $600 on its own is if you purchase a 5 user license.  IN a way, this is actually good news, since you're not paying anything extra for the games, which is something we should all be grateful for, honestly.
If you want to talk about fair for just a minute, consider that this is simply like moving into a house where all of your bills and expenses are already paid off in full and, the only thing you're paying for is a one time fee, that covers a license for you to move in and use the house, which, from all I've gathered, you can even pay off in monthly installments.  You don't pay for electricity, you don't pay for water, you don't pay for gas heating, you don't pay for groceries, you don't pay to have your trash taken out, you don't pay a middle man to come and inspect and do maintenance on anything that might break in future, which in short means, you don't pay extra, period.  Even if you choose to never live in the house, or not use certain rooms, or never turn on your microwave and or any other appliance, or if you use them and the house all the time to the point of abuse, you don't pay extra!  Leasey is an already handsome product even if you strip out the games, regardless what you might think of how it can or can't help you personally, and that's what you're paying for, Leasey, not the games.
We could go round and round about how someone who sells sccreen reader scripts to the blind community has no busines s selling audio games since the two markets are different, but it doesn't change the fact that this is exactly what's happening.  We're all to blame, every single one of us.  We were unwilling to pay prices developers considered reasonable for the work they put into their products, were unwilling to consider how much work and effort actually went into those products, sat around and trolled and criticised the work that went into said products, and made it less than possible through our practices to sustain a struggling market that catered to a select few individuals who have always been and will more than likely always bee a minority.  I said all of us, because every single one of us is responsible, no matter which one of these any one of us has personally done.  Cracked software?  Failed to give positive or constructive feedback?  Assumed entitlement on the basis of being blind?  Shared licenses with our friends rather than have them go and buy the game themselves?  Sent hatemail?  All of these have consequences attached to them.  if a record label heavily promotes an artist and does not sell enough albums or merchandise carrying that artist's name, the artist is dropped.  ON a smaller scale, I think the same is true about audio games, though in this case it's the developer and not a huge mega money making machine.  Developers are people like you and I, with kids and other relationships they have to tend to, with needs that have to be met, with desires and wishes they would like to cater to, with goals they'd like to accomplish and lives they have to live.  IN the end, I don't care how much you like your job; you'll never be able to tell me that it's ever so friggin awesome that you never feel tired of working or at the very least slightly frustrated with your work, and neither can they.  Add the entirety of the blind community to that, and it 9;s not pretty.
