Seb, if that ever happens again, know you can get the landlord under the Ontario human rights tribunal lickady split. My policy is to never mention pets of any kind when I'm renting a place, because even if its a cat, that can be fought as well. I rented my current home and didn't even tell the landlord about my cat and... I don't think he's found out to this day, over a year later... lol! I'm getting a guide dog later this year and again, he doesn't have to know. I'm renting a self contained apt in a house and as far as I'm concerned, I can do whatever I want in "my" property, as long as it doesn't pose a health risk to others or damage the residence.
