Google will still do security updates to android 4.4. It's not like Google is hiding under a rock. They worked extensively with Humanware on this tablet, and it is google certified so has all that you'd expect out of an android tablet. If android 4.4 wasn't a good choice, Google would've told that to Humanware. Google is not Microsoft. They don't just ditch things. And yes, the braille support is very solid. Talkback and Brailleback are never used. Keysoft is on the touch. Whoever said the touch is laggy may have thought that after trying touchbraille if they got to see one in action. Don't remember the specs offhand, but they're more impressive than other notetakers. I saw one, and it isn't laggy in the slightest. Don't be scared off by the touchbraille. It isn't what it seems. It's not like you have to remember dot positions. The screen automatically balibrates your 10 fingers when you place them on the screen. Sure, it take s some getting used to at first, but it's easy once you get used to it. And there's always the keyboard that you can attach, which, by the way, is not another elastic overlay like the Maestro. This keyboard fits perfectyl into the Touch, connects via pins, and has actual keys that you press, it doesn't push buttons on the screen.
