it wil allow u to coppy it yes. but u need to make sure that, the file system of the external is NTFS go to my computer highlight your drives name and choose properties. then see what file system its using, if its fat 32, u need to format it, as for weather u can format it in NTFS in a mack, i may not no that. some one whose using macks may no this answer
