Re: JAWS 15 in beta. let's debate how bad it is???

Well, I thought it was all right for a while. It seemed to work well enough and I liked the apps you could get from the appget thing.
Now, I don't know if the issues I am going to talk about are on Windows XP specifically or across the board.
So, after using it for a while, I found it would crash randomly when I was doing stuff. Also, it wouldn't read labels in dialogue boxes and buttons and other stuff.
It would also hang like JFW does so I'd have to end it in task manager. It also messed up percent bars, claiming it was 32 of 32 track bar, not a percent out of 100. Unless this is how they look visually on the sreen, I don't know.
But yeah the overall crashing and hangs and all that stuff drove me crazy.
Finally, I got so pissed off I called GW Micro and you know what they said when I ranted on about this crap?
Install apps to fix the issues. They told me that they couldn't have everything bundled with WIndow-eyes w
hich I understood as it would get too big but seriously? They had me install applications to fix Windows specific issues. I even got so pissed off I asked for my money back but of course the greedy little ok, sorry. I'm getting angry again.
Anyway, they wouldn't give me a refund which didn't surprise me.
But yeah I couldn't believe it. I hate to say it, but as much as I hate JFW I think it's slightly better than Window-eyes.
Then I find out they released vocalizer with Window-eyes 8. GUess what? They make you pay $95 for it unless you're a new window-eyes customer, in which case you get them with the product.
So I said screw you.
When I've used NVDA, I've had none of these issues. None at all.
I could go on all day but yeah that is basically why I hate Window-eyes and pretty much everything else made for the blind. In most cases, it seems half-baked.
It's just so frustrating. That's why I try to use
as much mainstream stuff as possible now, it doesn't seem to be nearly as buggy and flawed.
Ok, I'm going off topic and I'm on my rant about why I hate everything for the blind and visually impaired.

I just get so angry sometimes when people continue to support these companies that claim are trying to help us and instead release flawed crap for waaaay too much money.
ug ug ug! When will this stop? arrrrgh!
