Stirlock, Amazon codes work like this.
You go to amazon.com and find the 3ds game you want.
If it has a digital download code, you buy it, and the code gets put into you games library on amazon.
You go their, and copy the code to your clip board.
You then use the eshop link they give you and it asks for your Nintendo ID and password.
You put that in then paste the code and press submit.
Provided your 3ds is on and in sleep mode, the game will star downloading.
Once done, you'll have a present on your home screen that has what you just bought.
I did this for all three pokemon games recently.
