Well the good news is I have finished the third stadium, the bad news is I confess I'm getting a bit irritted with the grinding even with the xp pal, since I didn't realize xp would be halved quite so seriously. Indeed with the third stadium, since two of my highest level creatures are electric types I was a bit stuck, since initially I thought of raising some plant types, I then looked at how much time that would take, so I basically just ran in with my water starter, and spammed herbs, which of course meant my starter gained two more levels (now level 39), which means less balance.
people say "Get a good team together" accept that basically the game makes you unbalanced by having creatures who go through story areas automatically level more than others, and since there is no party xp, basically whoever is resistant to an area gets a massive lead in.
So at the moment my water starter is level 39, I've got a few more creatures around the
30-36 mark, and most everything else is the level i got it, including stuff that looks pretty good or that I've been actively trying to level but not been able to.
I do think the game needs to relieve grinding a little, either with party xp, or loot like level up herbs randomly obtained, or perhaps a few areas with different level creatures so you can actually have an area to grind say a plant or shadow type in without it being destroyed, or perhaps give more xp if the creature was strong to the element of the attacker.
