I can tell you two things.
One is that things tend to work differently on virtual machines, so you may be encountering a problem that we wouldn't be encountering on normal versions of windows. I honestly can't even think of anything to try.
I can also tell you that this will likely never be a JGT project. There are several reasons, but one of the main ones is chatting. If you think about it, there's really no way to cache people's chats and I don't think there's a way to stop them from translating unless you could somehow catch the channel name and stop translation of any word after that, but with things like world, map and camp being channel names, this could cause problems. This would end up costing Ian Reed piles of money, even if he told people to turn their chat channels off immediately upon entering the game and not use them, because not everyone's going to do that or remember to do that and it would lead to infinite translation possibilities.
