did that and resolved absolutely nothing. Thus far, I've tried editing permissions, uninstalling and reinstalling, have deleted the directory after uninstalling just to make sure there wasn't anything extra hanging around, ran a previous coppy I had hanging around on an older PC in a different directory to see if that might help, and am now up to the craziest combination of tricks just to try and resolve issues with just one program, which is a system restore and registry cleaning opperation.
So far, so good. Let's see what else breaks. I'll never know how this one happened.
