Re: Swamp, zombie FPS by Aprone

Good comments guys.  I've read them all but didn't have time to write a reply until now.

When it comes to the inventory bugs, I am still really hoping that those "collection" changes will be a major improvement in that area.  From what I can tell, those decorative items being moved into the separate collections has greatly lowered the stress on the overall inventory system.

If a storage system is added into the game, it would not be affected by any inventory bugs.  Like the new collection system, it would be separate from the actual inventory.  If such a storage system were added, there would certainly be a limit on how many items could be stored in it.  I'm not sure exactly of what those limits would be, but players couldn't build up an entire second inventory or anything.  The idea of the storage system would be to figure out a handful of essential items they would want, should they die and need to start ove r.

Adding in a storage system would not take very much time.  It is hard to believe, haha, but I tend to plan ahead for a variety of situations and I already have storage code implemented on the server from probably 8 months ago (or longer).  It was never completed, but the majority of it is already set, meaning I could finish it up and have it running after maybe a single day of work.  The SwampMas event actually used the hidden storage system code to store the custom gifts while they were being "constructed".

Getting either XP or Rep while looting is something I'll still need to think about.

I do want to find something to use Quest points on, and actually I need to sit down and remind myself how that whole quest system worked because I can't remember.  It had been rushed into active duty before it was ready (due to a power-outage incident), and in the following scramble I never remembered to go back and work on it.  Th ere were literally supposed to be like 40-50 quests coded in before that system ever went onto the main server, and since it only has a few quests it seems sorts pointless.
