The protection system CodeFactory was using is called "Starforce Nightmare". I heard you could crack the protection system with that, however, it may screw your CD drive.
About replacing the original exe-file of the full version with the exe-file the demo comes with: That only works with alien invasion, time adventures and KM2000. You cannot overcome that protection system of PDS.
