Re: Kickstarter Project for "A Hero's Call" from Out of Sight Games

Hi Joseph.
Congratulations on this awesome and totally amazing result, which has never been seen in the audio gaming community before. This is, as far as I know, the first time an accessible game have got that much money. This is fantastic!
Here is my thoughts on how to spent the money:
The graphics: As you know, graphics can't be too good. No matter how much money you throw into graphics, sighted people will always complain that the graphics is not good enough. Therefore, I'll recommend you to keep the graphics on a low standard which means there are enough graphics for people to get the feeling that this is a game for sighted, but the quality is not like the modern mainstream games. Everything in the game needs to have graphics, so people who have not played an audiogame before should not have any trouble.
If you need an excuse for not having full graphics or anything regarding to the graphics, you can change the story a bit so the main character in the game is visual impaired, and for this reason, the gamer should get the same feeling as well. I think this will get people who don't have experience with visual impaired people a much better idea on visual impairment in generel. I think sighted people will learn a lot from playing the game.
Now you are mention subtitles in the game. This is very important for the def gamers. So I'll highly recommend you to contact the def communities through some accessible gaming websites, and tell them that they'll be able to play the game as well.
So, back to the money: smile
Spent the money you need to make full but low graphics in the game, because this is needed to make sighted gamers interested. Then spent the rest on voice acting, sound improvements and other things in the game, which both blind and sighted people will enjoy.
One more important thing: You demons trated the main menu in one of the recordings. When listening to the recording, I got the feeling that this is an audio game made for blind people, simply because it started to talk as soon as you started the game etc. My point is: If this is an accessible RPG which is accessible to everyone, the game should have some accessibility settings where you can turn on the speech, and maybe enable the speech by pressing a shortcut. This will give a better understanding of accessibility for sighted people as well.
Keep up the fantastic job guys. I'm so excited...
