These steps work for both DragonRealms and gemstone IV.
1. Make a play.net account.
2. select the create a new character radio button.
3. Find the radio buttons that list clients. If you don't see them, you may have to click on a thing that says client, or front end, or something similar. Been a while since I've done this. Once you see the buttons, select wizard.
4. Click play.
5. You'll be taken to a page where the browser will attempt to install the wizard client. If you're prompted, don't allow the installation.
6. You'll be prompted to download a file with a .sal extention. Allow this. Make sure to save it to somewhere easily accessible on your computer.
7. Navigate to the file you just downloaded and open it in notepad using the open with dialogue.
8. Find the fields that say game host, port and key. game host and port are your connection information. Copy your key to the clipboard.
9. Con
nect with your client of choice and once connection is successful, paste in the key and press enter.
10. Type this, exactly, in all caps. FE/JAVA
