Hi, you don't nead to hate your self, cause starting with a new char won't destroy the old one. The chars are saved on the server, so even if ya'll make a new one, you can come back to the old by just typing your name and the password.
Regarding the gender pref, it makes alot of differance cause never the mail same as femal. Alot of people slect randomly, after they come to admins by a request for changing it. The game has some text, based on that it will call you she or he, and the chois is up to you.
