Stop trying to avoid it and just go grab NVDA, and then brows through the first few parts of the main documentation (if you really feel you need to) and then try to memorize as much of the damn quick key reference as you can and use the thingy that lets you press keys to see what they do without actually doing anything, in order to help solidify it.

You will probably understand most of the intermediate functionality within a couple of hours.
Spread it out over a week if you need to, but it's vital that you at least partially understand this kind of thing if you want to be taken seriously. It can only help (not harm) your position, so it's worth your time if it's really as important to you as it seems.
On the matter of scripts, honestly I really don't know enough to comment, but you can code right, and I've heard going from one language to another isn'
t all that hard if you know what your doing, even though Python is different, I forget the term but it's something about object oriented VS non object oriented (no freaking idea).
Either way their are some really good resources, or so I've heard, on the NVDA Add-ons site, and NVDA has a Python console built right in.

Also, speaking from experience, these SJW fucks can really get to you and turn you into a piece of shit to people that don't really deserve it, in the grand scheme of things.
